Reilly's Wines

Our vineyards, located in Leasingham and Watervale are non-irrigated, depending solely on rainfall. They yield limited quantities of small, delicious berries which are hand picked to ensure only the premium fruit is selected to go into our winemaking process.

The fruit is crushed at our Leasingham facility and fermented in open vats, prolonging contact of skins and juice. The fermented wine is then basket-pressed. This is a slow process providing last 'pressings' which contribute to creating fine wines of intense colour and flavour. Our red wines are then stored in new, premium quality French and American Oak hogsheads for one to two years.

Our wines have won many awards, including trophies and gold, silver and bronze medals at major wine shows. We have also received critical acclaim from prominent wine writers and publications including James Halliday, Jeremy Oliver, Robert Parker Jnr and Winestate.

Reilly’s Watervale Riesling

Reilly’s Watervale Rieslings are crisp with ripe citrus lime and floral flavours. These rieslings have considerable cellaring potential up to 12 years, and become more mellow with age, taking on luscious, honey overtones. Our rieslings have reaped many awards and accolades over the years, including Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at major wine shows, and runner-up in Winestate’s riesling of the year.

Stolen Block Shiraz

THE STORY BEHIND THE STOLEN BLOCK LABEL! One of the most prominent growers in the Clare Valley owns an 80 year old shiraz vineyard in Watervale which has some exceptional fruit. This fruit has previously only been accessible to some of Australia's prestige red wine brands. Our winemaker, using his 'unique' negotiating tactics, waited one night until this particular grower had a few too many drinks under his belt. He challenged him to a game of pool with the rights to the legendary fruit as the prize. The Stolen Block label attests to who won the challenge, because to this day, the grower still believes he was robbed! The Stolen Block Shiraz is a new addition to our range of wines. Super premium fruit has been selected for this label. The Stolen Block is a strictly limited release wine, due to the scarcity of the exceptional fruit which gives this wine its exquisite berry and plum flavours.
Serve with: Oven roasted aged prime beef fillet with a Shiraz glaze.

Barking Mad Riesling

Anyone in the winemaking game will tell you how frantic the vintage season is. We wait patiently for weeks for that precious crop to ripen, only to have it threatened by a freak storm or heatwave. Tempers fray when pumps break down close to midnight, with 3 truckloads of fruit still to be crushed! During these trying times, a nuzzle from our uncomplaining, canine friends helps to soothe frayed nerves. But after a long vintage, when the truck arrives with that last load of fruit, even the dogs are BARKING MAD!
